We will set out from the White Hill car park (SU516564) at 10.30am, initially following good, but occasionally muddy paths along the ridge of Watership Down (famous for rabbits and “Bright Eyes”). At the Ladle Hill fort we’ll head down to the north, to pick up footpaths heading for Ecchinswell, where we’ll visit the Royal Oak for a drink. From Ecchinswell, we continue to Kingsclere, with the option of a second pub stop (depending on time and opinion), before making the steep ascent back to the car park.

Please bring sufficient food and drink with you to last the day. There is no public transport to the start, so please car share if you can. The car park is on the road to Overton from Kingsclere (B3051): go up the hill and as the road turns left, there’s some parking on the right, but shortly afterwards there is a left turn to the start-point car park.
