I issued a challenge to the group for 2019: To start a walk from stations or bus stops we’ve not visited before, and as I issued the challenge, I thought it only fair I took up the challenge too, and this is my response that challenge.

Meet outside Winchfield Station in time for a 10:45am start  If coming from Reading, take the 9:40am departure and change at Basingstoke (arr 10:11 dep 10:31). The train arrives at Winchfield at 10:42am.  The walk leader will be on the train, so if the train is delayed, the start of the walk will be too. Bramley is on the line to Basingstoke, so buy a return to Winchfield.

This walk follows a stretch of the Brenda Parker Way, a 78 mile long distance path through North Hampshire. Don’t worry, we’re not walking all of it, we’re just following a 10 mile section of the way, from Winchfield to Bramley. The route takes through the North Hampshire countryside and highlights include West Green, Rotherwick and the Rivers Whitewater and Loddon,

Possible pub stop en route or at end of walk.

Trains back to Reading at 14 minutes past the hour with a much shorter journey time of 17 minutes.

NOTE: This is a linear walk
