Our walk leaders are the heart and soul of the Berkshire Walkers. They volunteer their time and energy to plan new walks, take us to exciting places and make sure we’re all safe!
To say thank you, we are introducing a ‘Walk Leader Badges’ scheme! We know how much you all love your badges, so when you lead your 1st, 5th, 10th, 25th and 50th walks, we will present you with a shiny new BW badge for your rucksack!
We’d like to say a special THANK YOU to the one walk leader in the group Dan H. who has already earned their silver 50 badge(!*), and the three walk leaders who have already earned their 25 badges: Jason (who’s led 48 at the time of writing!), Sam (36) & Zak (31)!
Thank you also to the eight walk leaders who have led their first walk in 2021! Leading your first walk is a huge achievement – we’ll get you your green walk leader badges as soon as we can! We’ll be giving out your badges on walks over the next few weeks, and we’ll get them to you as soon as we see you on a walk. If you aren’t attending walks at the moment but would like your badges, please drop me an email, and I’ll see what I can do for you 😊
*Note: we only have walk leading records since July 2014, excluding walks led on trips away, so we don’t know how many walks Dan H. has actually led! There’s 67 in the records though!
