Here is an overview of what was discussed at February and March committee meetings.
In the February meeting we first discussed the January committee social meeting which was held at the Biscuit Factory in Reading. In the social in January 25 people attended and the shared opinion was that it had been a success and that another committee social meeting would be held on April 12th in the Biscuit Factory. Paul our treasurer then discussed putting together a checklist for booking socials specifically regarding organization of payments. Georgia then announced to the group her Essex trip on the weekend 26th to 28th April. This trip is now full. We also discussed the next BW merchandise order which will be announced soon.
In the March meeting Tom first presented the results of the membership survey from October 2023. This was a survey designed to get information regarding activity of members of the Berkshire Walkers. It asked questions like preferences for types of walks and socials in our programme and length of walks. We then discussed ideas for the next in-person committee social in April. We are looking at changing the format slightly from the last social with more emphasis on discussions with the committee. Finally we discussed ways to improve advertising of upcoming trips. About 50% of members use meetup to find events in the group, however socials and trips away are currently not advertised on meetup. We decided that we can advertise socials and trips on meetup – this will comprise a placeholder which will re-direct to the main website. However this will only be done on the organizers discretion.
